The Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow Foundation is opening a design contest for the poster that will publicize the 2018 Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow, presented by First Guaranty Bank. The winning artist will receive a $200 cash prize that will be awarded at the airshow fundraiser on October 21, 2017. The artist will receive two tickets to the fundraiser and two general admission tickets and a parking pass to the airshow. Additional recognition will be awarded through social media outlets, press releases, and presentations at the airshow fundraiser in 2017 and the airshow main stage in 2018. Entries are due Wednesday, September 20, 2017, and will be judged by the Foundation Board members. The theme of the 2018 airshow is Freedom Then & Now. The winning design will be announced in early October.

Submission Guidelines

• Design for an 18” x 24” poster with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• Provide contact information including artist’s name, address, email, and telephone number.

• Due Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 4:00pm.
• Acceptable file formats are .JPG, .JPEG, .TIF, .TIFF, .EPS
• Use RGB colorspace only.
• Submit digitally on an electronic medium (flash drive, CD, DVD, dropbox link, or by email). If by email, send to info@hammondairshow.com. Entries should be submitted to the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport at 600 Judge Leon Ford Drive or to Hammond City Hall at 310 East Charles Street, during the hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm. If mailed, entries must be postmarked by September 20, 2017 and sent to PO Box 2788, Hammond, LA 70404. The outside of the envelope should be marked “Airshow Poster Entry.”

Specific Rules

• No more than three (3) entries per artist.
• Anyone may participate as an artist. No age limits. No artistic background is required.
• All entries must be an original design with no syndicated, copyrighted, or clipart images.
• No artist’s signature(s) on the poster.
• Poster content must include the following text:  Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow, October 21-22, 2018, Freedom Then & Now.
• Entries not selected can be retrieved in person or mailed to the artist provided that the artist encloses the cost of return postage.
• Entries not selected or retrieved will be disposed of 60 days after the winner is announced.
• The Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow Foundation reserves the right to accept or reject all work submitted during this competition.
• The Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow Foundation accepts no liability for damaged or lost artwork.

• Creativity and originality of the artwork
• Visualization and interpretation of the airshow theme: Freedom Then & Now
• Reproducibility

Poster Winner

The winning poster will become property of the Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow Foundation. The artist will retain the design image copyright, but the Foundation reserves the right to unlimited reproduction and use of the image and/or parts of the image for airshow promotion. The artist may not reproduce the poster or individual elements of the poster for other poster designs, venues, or profit. The artist will sign the poster, and this signed copy will be auctioned at a fundraiser for the airshow on October 21, 2017. Only a limited number of signed copies will be available for sale. All sales will benefit the Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow Foundation.
